I offer music lessons in piano (to grade 5), singing (to grade 8), Tuned Percussion (to grade 5), Theory (to grade 6), and songwriting.
I charge a rate of £50 per hour. Lessons can be between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the need and abilities of the client.
Lessons can be held at the client’s home, online, or in dedicated music space in my home.
Lessons are tailored to the needs and wants of the client, whether that is for taking music exams, learning how to read music, for fun or to learn a new skill.
They can also be tailored to students with any learning disabilities to help them in a way best suited to them.

Music therapy work can be short or long term depending on the need and aims of the therapeutic intervention.
It is generally not advised to undergo two creative therapy interventions at the same time, so keep this in mind when enquiring.
Individual and group sessions are provided. Please see each section as applicable.
Individual music therapy will begin with an assessment period of 3 sessions over 3 weeks (1 session a week). These sessions will typically last between 45-60 minutes.
When you enquire or request an assessment period, I will ask you to complete a form with relevant information I might need to know. This will be along the lines of any diagnoses, aims, referral reasons and general background information.
All information will be held within GDPR regulations. Consent and contract forms will be sent to you to sign as well.
After the assessment period has ended, I will form a report and discuss the findings and recommendations with you and set out a plan moving forward.
For group music therapy, the clients will preferably be of a similar ability and be working towards the same goals. Examples could be ‘build social communication skills’ or ‘encourage playfulness amongst peers’.
Sessions will usually be of a set length (45-60 minutes) and a set amount of weeks. Goals will be discussed and set before the group begins (with some exceptions) and usually held on a weekly basis.
Music therapy can take place in the client’s home, though I do ask for a quiet relaxing space where there will be no interruptions during the session time. Or the sessions may take place in my dedicated music space in my home.
Reports for both individual and group sessions will be provided after the initial 3 sessions, at the middle point and again at the end of the intervention.
For ongoing long term music therapy work, reports will be completed on a 6 monthly basis and can be requested at any point other than this for an extra fee.
My fees for individual music therapy are £60 per hour. Sessions can vary in length between 30 minutes and an hour.
I hold three spaces at any one time for 'sliding scale' clients. These are only held for individual music therapy work. Sliding scale is applicable to those who require music therapy, but cannot afford the full fees disclosed above. These spaces can be enquired about. I do not ask for any proof of income, they are allocated based on the expectation that any potential client enquiring is honest about their situation.

Testimonials
Cannot recommend highly enough. Rachael had good communication from the outset, asked about details of our relationship that would aid her in her song writing and make the song personal to us. She sent me brief samples to make sure I was happy with the direction she had chosen to go in. Once she had the finished product she sent it to me and it made me cry (in all the right ways). She played piano whilst the guests were waiting for me and played the song she had written for us for me to walk down the aisle to. She turned up looking professional and was very friendly. After the event my videographer asked her for a recording of the song to add to the video and she very kindly shared her work with them without issue.

Wedding singing and songwriting
We were lucky enough to have our good friend Rachael sing at our wedding. Her talent is unmatched. She listened to what we wanted, managed to blend two pieces of music together for me to walk down the aisle to in the style we wanted. If that wasn't enough, she even went above and beyond to write us our own song. She has the most beautiful voice and is a gifted song writer. Highly recommend!

Issy’s weekly sessions are an absolute highlight for her…getting to ‘chill out’ with you, playing cool music, and old favourites, ensures Issy is fully engaged and happy…thank you …if Issy is happy, we are happy.

Music Therapy
Rachael has been our son's piano teacher for three years. With a supportive approach, she skillfully ensures that lessons are good fun and incorporate his musical interests. Our son really enjoys their lessons and Rachael has guided him from successfully completing his Grade 4 to preparing for Grade 5, incorporating fun pieces to enhance his playing skills.
