Full Time Freelance!
So we are finishing up the second week of being full time self-employed. It has been busy and exciting and wonderful!
I finished my time working at the Highfield Academies at the end of October, which was a bittersweet goodbye. I loved my years working there, meeting wonderful students and staff, and trying to make a difference to their lives. But it was time for the next adventure. I’m sure our paths will cross again in the future and I hope to see every student thrive in whatever they decide to do!
I already have a full schedule working across many demographics and populations each week. From ages 4 to 94 (and probably higher!) with a range of diagnoses and disabilities, and all with their own character, sense of humour and love for music and what I can bring to the table for them.
I have two care home groups for those living with dementia, several adults with PMLD and SEN diagnoses, one school day with girls with ASD, several clients with the Cambridge Acorn Project who help those who have experienced domestic violence and much much more!
Currently in the works to start in January, we have a choir for SEN children with Dreamdrops based in Huntingdon and an all adults SEN group for central Cambridge.
Already in the space of two weeks I have learnt so much about running a business, but also about my community and the need for more mental health and SEN support. In todays society we still have so far to go, in providing the correct care for our neurodivergent and disabled children and adults. I’m glad I get to be a part of making that change and helping how I know best. Music changes lives and I will continue to work and advocate for our vulnerable people that cannot do so for themselves.
If you have any ideas on what you would like to see in your community for wellbeing, do reach out and let me know! Maybe we could work together to make this happen
As always, with love,
